He has been hand-gathering agates from South Ayrshire in Scotland for the past 50 years. Each stone exposed by the elements is a one-off masterpiece ready to be discovered.

Dougal opens the agates with a diamond saw to reveal their individual features. The detail of the stones is captured in high resolution, bringing their molecular complexity to life. Every image Dougal creates represents just a few square millimetres of gem, giving us an infinite source of the purest natural art.
